SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 206

Green, Guills, Hall, Helmick, Hunter, Jenkins, Kessler, Love,
McCabe, Minard, Oliverio, Plymale, Prezioso, Sharpe, Sprouse,
Stollings, Sypolt, Unger, Wells, White and Yoder)
Recognizing the service of the Honorable Andy McKenzie, member of
the West Virginia Senate, dedicated public servant and
distinguished West Virginian.
Whereas, Andy McKenzie was born August 16, 1970, in Wheeling,
Ohio County, the son of Karen D. and the late Ronald A. McKenzie;
and
Whereas, Andy McKenzie is married to his beloved wife Carrie
A. McKenzie. He is the proud father of four children, sons,
Austin, Levi, Quinn, and daughter, the late Victoria; and
Whereas, Andy McKenzie received his education from West
Liberty State College, where he earned a BS degree in business,
and West Virginia University, where he earned an MBA ; and
Whereas, In 1996, the Honorable Andy McKenzie was elected
to the West Virginia Senate from the first senatorial district, and
was reelected in 2000 and 2004; and
Whereas, During his tenure in the Senate, the Honorable Andy McKenzie served as Senate Minority Whip during the 73rd, 74th, 75th
76th and 77th Legislatures. He served as a member of the Senate
committees on Confirmations, Economic Development, Judiciary,
Natural Resources, Rules and Transportation and Infrastructure. He
also served on the Commission on Economic Development, Legislative
Oversight Committee on the Regional Jail and Correctional Facility
Authority, and the Joint Committee on Technology; and
Whereas, The Honorable Andy McKenzie has decided not to seek
reelection to the West Virginia Senate in 2008, bringing to an end
a long and dedicated career of public service; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the service of the Honorable
Andy McKenzie, member of the West Virginia Senate, dedicated public
servant and distinguished West Virginian; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby expresses its sincere
appreciation to the Honorable Andy McKenzie for his dedication and
commitment to the citizens of the first senatorial district and the
State of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Andy McKenzie.
